下列术语和定义适用于本部分。
3.1 耐火完整性 integrity fire-resistant
在标准耐火试验条件下，玻璃构件当其一面受火时，能在一定时间内防止火焰和热气穿透或在背火面出现火焰的能力。
3.2 耐火隔热性 insulation of fire-resistant
在标准耐火试验条件下，玻璃构件当其一面受火时，能在一定时间内使其背火面温度不超过规定值的能力。
3.3 耐火极限 fire-resistant time
在标准耐火试验条件下，玻璃构件从受火的作用时起，到失去完整性或隔热型要求时止的这段时间。
3.4 复合防火玻璃 laminated fire-resistant glass
由两层或两层以上玻璃复合而成或由一层玻璃和有机材料复合而成，并满足相应耐火性能要求的特种玻璃。
3.5 单片防火玻璃 monolithic fire-resistant glass
由单层玻璃构成，并满足相应耐火性能要求的特种玻璃。
3.6 隔热型防火玻璃（A类） insulated fire-resistant glass(A type)
耐火性能同时满足耐火完整性、耐火隔热性要求的防火玻璃。
3.7 非隔热型防火玻璃（C类） integrity-only fire-resistant glass(C type)
耐火性能仅满足耐火完整性要求的防火玻璃。
